River C. Ionta, DC

Welcome! I’m River, a yoga teacher and chiropractor compelled to guide people in a practice that celebrates the meeting of community and autonomy. I’ve been teaching yoga since 2017, and love incorporating the best of the many styles I’ve trained in, offering a practice that is unique, compassionate, and meets you exactly where you are.

I’m here to help you build awareness within, and explore movement that works for your body; fostering both physical integrity and mental resilience. If you’re new to yoga, searching for connection to yourself, healing an injury, hoping to deepen your practice, navigating pregnancy, or looking for a way to rest and ease some aches—your full self is supported and wanted here. I am especially passionate about holding this space for the queer and trans folks, and participating in the cycle of reciprocity for my community.

You can expect classes that blend play and intention (with some nerdy dives into anatomy). I’m here to help you find your groove, whether that means laughing through a new pose or sinking into some much-needed stillness. No expectations, no right or wrong ways. Step on your mat as you are. I’d be honored to guide you in discovering movement that heals, inside and out.

CLASSES

Forrest Yoga Flow

SATURDAY mornings from 10:00a to 11:15a

Begin your weekend with a practice designed to help you slow down, feel deeply, and build resilience in a space that affirms all bodies and expressions. This Forrest Yoga Flow class is dedicated to exploring what works best for you and your practice with chiropractic expertise and elements from multiple styles of yoga.

Variations are offered for every pose so class is accessible whether you’re new to yoga, a longtime practitioner, or finding your way through an injury, pregnancy, or mental health challenges. Expect to hold poses a bit longer to activate underused muscles and connect to your core. You’ll soothe your nervous system in community and leave with tools to carry you on and off your mat.

Join us Saturdays from 10am to 11:15am, December 28th to March 29th, for a series focused on warming your body and easing your mind in a safe space through the winter season.
